About Vagilant
Who builds Vagilant, our named medical reviewer, and an honest account of what our biosensor liner can and cannot tell you.
Vagilant is a smart panty liner with biosensors, paired with an online assessment. You wear the liner as you would any other, read the nine-pad sensor grid, answer a short set of questions, and get plain-language information about what your body is doing over time.
We are a pre-launch company based in Canada, preparing to make Vagilant available in the United States and Canada. This page exists so you know exactly who is behind the product and what we are and are not claiming.
Why we built this
Vaginal symptoms are extraordinarily common and extraordinarily under-discussed. Bacterial vaginosis alone affects roughly a third of people with a vagina of reproductive age at any given time, and the majority of those treated for it will have it return within a year. Yeast infections are so routine that most people self-diagnose them, and studies consistently find that most people who self-diagnose get it wrong.
The gap is rarely a lack of medicine; it is a lack of information between appointments. People arrive at a doctor's office trying to recall what changed and when, and end up describing weeks of symptoms from memory. Vagilant is an attempt to close that gap: something you can use at home, that produces a record, so a pattern is visible instead of remembered.
What Vagilant is, and what it is not
Vagilant is a wellness product, not a diagnostic test.
It does not diagnose bacterial vaginosis, yeast infections, sexually transmitted infections, or any other condition. It cannot tell you whether you need antibiotics. It is designed to help you notice and record changes, and to give you something concrete to bring to a doctor. If you have symptoms that concern you, see a healthcare provider, with or without Vagilant.
We are currently pursuing regulatory registration. Until that process is complete, we describe Vagilant strictly as a wellness and monitoring product, and we will not make diagnostic claims. If and when our regulatory status changes, we will update this page and say so plainly.
Our medical reviewer
Health content on this site is reviewed for clinical accuracy by Dr. Areesha. Every article in our vaginal health guide carries a review byline and a last-updated date, and cites the sources it draws on.
We do this because health information written by anonymous marketing teams is a genuine problem, and because you should be able to check who stood behind what you are reading.
Where our evidence currently stands
We would rather be straightforward about this than vague. Vagilant's biosensor approach has been tested internally with volunteer users through our own assessment platform. That data informs how the product works and how results are presented.
What we do not yet have is independent, peer-reviewed validation of the sensor's accuracy. Some companies in adjacent categories do have published validation studies, and that is a real advantage for them. We are not going to borrow credibility we have not earned by quoting accuracy figures we cannot back.
Our full position on the technology, including its limits, is on the science page.
How we handle your data
Vaginal health data is about as sensitive as personal data gets. Your assessment answers and readings are encrypted, are never sold or shared with advertisers, and you can export or permanently delete your account and all its data at any time from your own settings.
The full detail is in our privacy policy.
